Le processus consiste \u00e0 tremper le substrat dans une solution d'eau contenant du sel de nickel et un agent r\u00e9ducteur contenant du phosphore. Le placage de nickel electroless est un processus qui n\u00e9cessite le d\u00e9p\u00f4t d'un alliage de nickel \u00e0 partir de solutions aqueuses sur un substrat sans l'utilisation de courant \u00e9lectrique. Par cons\u00e9quent il diff\u00e8re de l'\u00e9lectroplaque qui d\u00e9pend d'une source extr\u00eame de courant direct pour r\u00e9duire les ions nickel dans l'\u00e9lectrolyte au nickel m\u00e9tal sur le substrat.
